Music Video Planning // Final Song Choice

Following the research into possible artists, discussion with fellow members of the group and lastly my groups accepted song proposal to our tutor, I have finally decided on a track to be used for our final production! The song was explored previously in my other post where I evaluated difference choices and I've finally decided that 'Supercell' by the band Gallery Circus is the song I am going to use in the production of my music video and Digipak.

I emailed the band asking for permission and received a lovely message granting My group and I the rights to use it for the course. In addition, one of the band members also gave a brief outline of the ideas and inspirations behind the track, which is going to be really useful in the planning and evaluation stages. It read:

"The song was written when Dan and I were living in San Francisco back in 2012. We were listening to a lot of Americana and american folk / blues at the time, most notably black rebel motor cycle club. Lyrically, I guess it can be interpreted as an anthem to a revolution or uprising. But really, it's just a bunch of words and phrases that we thought sound good together. "

The lyrics for the song are as follows:

"Little gun we're reckless dumb - we're your celebrated scum
I'm a tabloid indestructible, it's an enemy untouched
Drink us up like a vampire, sweeter than your average liar,
We're control
Your no body, no body, no-one.

Kingdom override, kids die young tonight
Rose is calling
Kingdom override, kids die young tonight
Rose is calling
Powered by kilowatts we're electric numbers
We're coming for your neighbourhoods,
We're going to come for the crown, oh the crown.

Little gun, we're feeling young, got a kick for killer fun
Like a systematic hurricane, dropping cut throat tornado
Go scream all of your followers, you never want to do us wrong,
We're your blood,
Your no body, no body, no-one.

Kingdom override, kids die young tonight
Rose is calling
Kingdom override, kids die young tonight
Rose is calling
Powered by kilowatts we're electric numbers
We're coming for your neighbourhoods,
We're going to come for the crown, oh the crown.

String up the terraces, we're sending messages
On paper cup telephones, nailed under your nose.

Pack up our soldiers skins, hide them in wide-eyed grins
Calculate on everything, for country for kingdom.

Kingdom override, kids die young tonight
Rose is calling
Kingdom override, kids die young tonight
Rose is calling
Powered by kilowatts we're electric numbers
We're coming for your neighbourhoods,
We're going to come for the crown, oh the crown."

This is fantastic news, so now I can get completely stuck in with Planning it all out for real!
